what are interface groups. when i bootup the sim, it has 4 interfaces. I can give each interface its own ip. but should i use interface groups or no?

You can use interface groups (in simulator) to get experience with. I doubt (depending on the hosting system e.g. laptop) that you have more then one physical ethernet interface.

They have been known as Virtual Interface (vif) in Ontap 7G and are now called Interface Groups (ifgrp). The purpose is the same: to bundle together 2 or more physical ports to provide more redundancy and/or more throughput.
