Question : New installation V-3160

I've got 2 IBM DS4500 with 2xEXP810 and 2xEXP710 on each DS4500.

if I install V-3160, can i reused the actual EXP... (without recreate LUN)

My DS4500 go to garbage ?

Re: Question : New installation V-3160

You have no choice but to create new volumes, luns. Have you purchased any additional storage from NetApp? If so migrate the Data from the IBM ds4500 then create the new luns etc.

If you have no NetApp disks make sure you install the root volume as a FlexVol volume on a single array LUN.

Re: Question : New installation V-3160

Hi Francois,

I'm not sure I understand the question.  The disk enclosures behind your DS4500 would stay there.  You would provision LUNs from the DS4500 and present them to the V3160.  The V3160 could not use the IBM disk enclosures.  It can only use NetApp disk shelves or LUNs provisioned by a supported 3rd party storage array.

You can read the Installation Guide for IBM Storage for directions on how to implement your V3160, or you can contact your NetApp account team for assistance.
