I have a Netapp AFF C800 system with several network interfaces including 2 x 25Gbps 2-port cards. These 25Gbps ports are seen by Ontap as RDMA RoCE enabled. I created a LACP (IP based) portgroup by taking the first port of each of the 2 cards inside each controller. On the LACP portgroup a0a, the RDMA Protocol column no longer shows the RoCE entry as it did for the individual boards. When I go to create a LIF of type Data - NFS, SMB/CIFS and check the “Use RoCE ports” checkbox, I get the error message “A broadcast domain with RoCE-capable ports wasn't found”. So my question is this: is it possible to use RoCE on a LIF if Link Aggregation Groups are created? If so, how should I create the LAG in order to have RoCE? Or do I have to do it completely differently e.g., by not creating the lag? Thank you

We are currently using data SVM scoped NDMP backups using Commvault. We have about 6 data SVMs in an 8 node cluster. For reasons I don't recall, years ago we chose to configure NDMP at the data SVM level. Each data SVM is its own client computer in CV with appropriate agents (NDMP, Linux, or Windows) and subclients configured. We now are testing SVM-DR (which seems pretty cool) to a peered cluster in another datacenter. It has become apparent that CV needs to be configured at the cluster admin SVM level in order to do Intellisnap and backup the data when we fail over to the DR cluster. My question is, can NDMP be configured at both the cluster admin SVM level and at the data SVM levels and backup just the SVM-DR volumes via the cluster or is it an all or nothing sort of thing where I need to re-configure everything to backup that way? I'd like to backup just the SVM-DR via the cluster (for now) and leave the others where they.

Dear all, I am new to NetApp storage environment, i did not find any proper procedure or instructions to find VMs belongs to VMware or Hyper-V connected to which LUN, In system manager when I select my desired LUN to find which VMs connected to this LUN i can see three initiator groups and 17 initiators. people are saying we can find connected VMs through these igroups but i have no clue kindly guide me to find vms. my netapp version is 9.1p3. nivas

Hi, on a linux client i see only the root when i enter: root@srv20:~# showmount -e 192.168.99.12 Export list for 192.168.99.12: / (everyone) root@srv20:~# I don't find if there is something wrong: main::> vserver nfs show -vserver main-file -fields showmount-rootonly,showmount vserver showmount showmount-rootonly --------- --------- ------------------ main-file enabled disabled main::> So i entered: main::> vserver nfs modify -vserver main-file -showmount-rootonly enabled -showmount disabled No change on the inux client, but this was expected... So i entered: vserver nfs modify -vserver main-file -showmount-rootonly disabled -showmount enabled Same setting as inital: main::> vserver nfs show -vserver main-file -fields showmount-rootonly,showmount vserver showmount showmount-rootonly --------- --------- ------------------ main-file enabled disabled main::> But on the linux host i see now: root@srv20:~# showmount -e 192.168.99.12 Export list for 192.168.99.12: /daten (everyone) /daten/install (everyone) /daten/temp (everyone) /daten/users (everyone) /recordings (everyone) / (everyone) root@srv20:~# So changing the setting one time to the other setting and then back resolves the problem. I was using SVM DR here and had the backup destination active for a few days, then i reinstalled the source and made a new SVM DR with the reinstalled source. After all was in sync i enabled the original source again and made a reverse sync. During this actions this seetings seems to got an inconsistent state... Just for info, if someone has the same problems, that an showmount isn't workung but all is correct configured.
