Adai, That is how I understand it as well. Monitoring (and thus alerting) of of pre-8.2 Snapmirror relationships should work. Only the history graphs will not work for pre-8.2. Kevin

If you want to view SnapMirror relationship transfer history graphs in OCUM 6.0, then you must use Data ONTAP 8.2 or later. You must also convert any SnapMirror relationships that were created while using Data ONTAP 8.1.x to a Data ONTAP 8.2 style relationship. SnapMirror relationships created using Data ONTAP 8.1.x are not supported in OCUM 6.0. Kevin

The OCSM 3.0 Quick Start guide has this to say regarding screen resolution: Page 9 https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMP1228966 You should be aware of the following information: • You should use a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels for optimal viewing. Note: You must ensure that the screen width does not exceed 2000 pixels. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Mario, What screen resolution are you using? This has been observed previously when running System Manager on a system with a high resolution. Thanks, Kevin

Hello, The authentication services that are qualified (and supported) in UM 6.0 are Active Directory and Open LDAP. Secure LDAP and Lightweight Directory Services are not qualified nor supported. The UM Admin Guide states this: https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMP1141205 Enabling remote authentication You can enable remote authentication (LDAP, Active Directory) to enable the management server to communicate with your authentication servers and to enable users of the authentication servers to use Unified Manager and manage the storage objects and data. Thanks, Kevin

Hello, Does "LDS" mean secure LDAP? If so, UM 6.0 does not support secure LDAP. Or does it refer to Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services? Thanks, Kevin

Hi Keith, The screenshot shows that UM is configured to use SNMPv3 for this controller and that protocol is timing out. You will therefore not collect any data from it until you either resolve the timeout condition or configure UM to use SNMPv1 to monitor that controller. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Alexander, I do not see where the #'s 750Gb and 1.5Tb come from based on the above screen snips. There is an equation used to calculate the secondary container size which in UM 5.0.2 only applies to SnapVault relationships. In UM 5.1 and higher it also applies to VSM destinations. The calculation uses primary volume size and usage #'s to generate the size of the secondary size and this will occur during protection jobs to ensure there is enough space to allow a vault operation. Thanks, Kevin

Hi Mariko, It would help to know the DFM/UM version you are running as there is a perfdata large file bug that is resolved via automatically workaround in UM Core 5.0+. Thanks, Kevin

Jussi, Please open a support case and post the # here so we can follow up with you. This falls under class 4 of the triage template: https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=1014347 In addition to having answers for the questions in that section, we will also need the following data for the support case: In the upper right corner of the Web interface, choose Help -> About OnCommand Unified Manager. Copy the first three lines of text from this dialog (product name, Version, and System ID) for version and AutoSupport location. Generate an AutoSupport from the Web interface by clicking on, in the upper right corner of the Web interface, Administration -> Setup Options -> Management Server -> AutoSupport. If the text Administration is not visible or the submenu of Management Server is not visible, log in with an account that holds the OnCommand Administrator role and generate an AutoSupport. Thanks, Kevin

Jeff, I recommend having them move to a supported version of Linux prior to opening a support case as that will be the first requirement should one be opened. What you describe sounds like a port conflict so I would suggest looking for other applications running on the server (none should be). You should also ensure that SE Linux has been disabled or placed in permissive mode as per the DFM install documentation although this normally prevent installations. Kevin

Single file restore license The Single file restore license is necessary on storage systems that you intend to use as primary storage for datasets of virtual objects. Thanks, Kevin

Yes, I recommend stopping the old server services if the new server is functioning as you desire. Double monitoring adds load to the controllers in addition to causing double alerting. You can create a final backup on the old server and then uninstall DFM - it will not remove the logs or data. If your controllers were configured to send traps to the old DFM server, then they must all be updated for the new server name or ip address, whichever they are configured to use. This does not affect normal UM monitoring though, as that is a pull operation. It will only affect those things that UM cannot detect through normal monitoring. How to configure DFM Alerts for Volume Autosize, Maxdirsize Reach, or Snapshot Autodeletion

The behavior you describe sounds like SDW bug 461675 (SDW is bundled and used for these tasks) however it should be fixed in HP 1.3 based on what I have read. I recommend that you open a support case with the following data attached: 1) DFMDC 2) ONTAPWindDC on the HP server for the host service logs Also ensure you have issued Autosupports from the controllers covering the failure window Once opened, please post the case #.
