Hi Thomas, Thanks for your confirmation. So its looks like a different issue. I suggest you to upgrade to 5.1 or when you upgrade revert the hidden or turn it off.Now what makes me think is why is conformance still suggesting the old aggrs capacity and not the new capacity. Also is your source volumes dedupe enabled by any changes ? Regards adai

Hi Reid, You are basically trying out the untested waters, I haven't at least personally done this. Not sure if others like kevin and alex have done it. Regards adai

Hi Thomas, I am still leaning towards Dedupe Limit to 80TB as it only affects the controller of type 3160 and those running 8.1.1 but setting pmAutomaticSecondaryVolMaxSizeMb to 40TB affects all volume resize or creation with protection manger to 40TB. In fact upgrading to 5.1 will solve all of this. Regards adai

Hi Thomas, Can you set the dedupe limit to 80TB in your case and try this ? The other hidden options will set the max size for all future volumes to be provisioned or re sized to to 40TB. Regards adai

Hi Chute, I am afraid, if that supported. Also I have not personally done that or heard other customers do it as well. All I know is that customers forward traps from DFM server to 3rd party trap hosts. So you are actually getting into unknown territory and let us know if it works. All the best. Regards adai

Hi Thomas, I think I got you problem. If I understand correctly you are using OCUM 5.0/5.0.1/5.0.2. Traditionally when we want to a create a mirror relations, the destination volume is created to the size of the aggr with guarantee set to none. I suspect that in your case the aggr3/4 is 64 bit aggr ? Is it so ? If that's the case then the reslimit doesn't have the max size because of which the conformance fails. Pls follow the workaround in the bug 591117 and also add your case to this bug so that its prioritized to a release sooner. http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=591117 Also you can avoid this by upgrading to 5.1 where we support Dynamic sizing for Mirror destination volumes as well, where instead of creating aggr sized mirror destination volume we only create it to the size of the source and before every update job check for the source volume size and grow or shrink the destination volume accordingly. Regards adai

Hi Reid, We never support revert or downgrade. If you already have a backup taken in 5.0.2 you can install 5.0.2 and restore that backup. But you will loose all data created in 5.1 since the backup was taken in 5.0.2 BTW NGS would and should support 5.1 as its also a release available in NOW for public consumption. Is there any specific problem that the customer ran into after upgrading to 5.1 ? Reverting is not available/supported or recommended and would cause other problem which we dont know off. Regards adai

Hi Earls, Check if you are a victim of bug 627433. Esp check for the following. -- Author: parisi Date: Wed Aug 08 12:31:53 PDT 2012-- Copy pasting the same for convenience. It was an issue with the Cluster-Mode web service being disabled. We could see httpd running in systemshell, but did not see port 80 listening. After we enabled web services, we could then get to port 80 and we could run apitest. Now they can see CPU data. The command to enable the web services: ::> security http webserver modify -node * -state on I checked the OnCommand Guides to see if this is documented - it's not. We need to add a line to the OnCommand docs that state "Ensure web services are running on your Cluster-Mode systems. If services are not running, OnCommand will be unable to fetch data via api." One troubling thing about this issue is that dfm host diag will come back clean when web services are disabled. Regards adai

Hi Vinay, You should find it in the NetApp Support Site. Is there any specific reason why you are looking for DFM 4.0.2 ? We already have OnCommand Unified manager 5.1 which is the FCS release and 5.0.2 which is GA. If for some specific reason you still want to go with 4.0.2 I strongly suggest you to go with 4.0.2D12 instead of vanilla 4.0.2. Below is the link to the same. http://support.netapp.com/NOW/download/software/dfm_win/4.0.2D12/download.cgi Regards adai

Hi Chris, You are basically hitting the know issue. Check the Bugs online http://support.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/bol?Type=Detail&Display=300668 All I can suggest is, configure your events at group level instead of Global group. And exclude the group with just the SnapManager Volumes. Regards adai

In order for snapmirror relationship to be discovered, both the source and destination filer of snapmirror should be monitored in the same dfm server. Is that done in your case ? If its not that explains why you see undeleted and discovered events. Regards adai

Hi Scott, The DFM never talks to vfiler to collect data, instead it always does it via the physical filer. What is the version of Ontap is that system running ? Do you see any errors in your dfmmonitor.log with respect to the qtree in question ? Regards adai
