Hi everyone, I’m working on a storage virtual machine (SVM) with CIFS enabled and I need to close or terminate an active CIFS session. I’m looking for guidance on: give local user or AD user to do this activity so you help to do this what privilege i can give (can i give him Read only ) If anyone can share the steps or commands, or point me to relevant documentation, I’d really appreciate it. 10 node AFF Netapp cluster nodes highly utilized and unable to set maintenance windo for ONTAP upgrade. Hi friends, Need your valuable suggestion as always. I have a 10 node cluster which is highly utilized all times. Among those 2 nodes are hitting 80% on regular basis. As this a critical cluster I am unable to set a maintenance window for ONTAP upgrade. Vol move activity are not possible at the moment as need to upgrade cluster by next week. Any valuable suggestions please let me how to proceed with maintenance window. Is there any critical parameter like IOPs, latency which I can look into for performance and decide to set maintenance window. It should be non disruptive upgrade and Host team should not have any downtime during the activity. ONTAP Version upgrade planned from 9.11.1p8 to 9.11.1p16 to 9.15.1p16,it is a multi hop upgrade.

When an SVM Disaster Recovery (SVM-DR) failover occurs and the NAS volumes become read-only on the secondary site, the cause is almost always related to SVM state, CIFS/NFS configuration, or security/identity dependencies not being fully active after the break. how can solve the issue of read-only.

Dear all, There is one NetApp AFF-A250 storage which contain 2 nodes. There are 8 hard-disks among the 2 nodes, with each node containing 4 hard-disks. The software version of NetApp AFF-A250 storage = NetApp Release 9.12.1 P2 The NetApp AFF-A250 storage will be physically relocated from one location to another location. Would it be advisable to remove the eight hard-disks from the NetApp AFF-A250 storage system to reduce its weight during the physical relocation of the NetApp storage ? Then, we can add the 8 hard-disks into the NetApp AFF-A250 storage after physical relocation. Thanks very much !
