Hi All,

We have a filer FAS 2020 with only ISCSI and cluster license; wanted to know how to access the filer if i need to update the firmware or carry any maintaince on the filer, on the other filer we mount it to a root host and access the /etc foler of the filer or access it using the CIFS shares.

Regards,

Vijay

Vijay,

If you dont have CIFS and NFS license then only Command line is the source for you. You have to login (telnet) into Storage system console and run CLI commands for your maintaince.

Vijay,

You can use "software get" to download it. It will keep it in /etc/software path.

Does “software get” solve your problem?

Hi,

You can use Upgrade Ontap Utility to update firmware or ontap. You can find it on NOW site and free to download.

This utility designed for systems without CIFS/NFS licence.
