Can I setup a CIFS folder using only OpenLdap, No AD from windows. just OpenLdap.

f any one have any Idea or just a simple answer like yes we can or not we can, this setup im trying  to implement is on Ontap 9.5 P6.

The question is a bit unclear. If you mean “can ONTAP authenticate CIFS clients against user/password stored in LDAP” - no, I do not think it is possible.
