Can't set FR = 0 if volume is thin

I have created a none space guaranteed SAN volume with system manager, when I try to edit the volume and set the fractional reserve to 0% I receive an error  stating could not set FR = 0%????

DOT 8.0 has the same limitations as DOT 7.3.1 in this regard.  DOT 8.0.1 does not have the restriction.

What version of Data ONTAP?  In 7.3.2 and prior, you must set the FR=100 to set the volume reservation to none.  Data ONTAP 7.3.3 and later no longer have this restriction.

DOT 8.0 - This is with the simulator howerver.

The behaviour of thinly provisioned volume when FR "can't" be set to zero is a bit odd though - have a look at these two posts:
