Limitations for cifs.homedir implemantation ?

Hi,

IHAC who has 20,000 users.

I need to know if there are some best practices regarding the number of user in each path.

I already know that there is a limit of 1,000 paths, but I need to know if there are some best practices regarding the number of users in each path.

For example, would be 1,000 users in a single path OK ? Or 5000 ? or no more than 200 ?

My concerns are mainly about

- performance (may too many user directories on the same level slow down the controller ?)

- maxdirsize (how many directories on the same level to reach the maxdirsize default limit ?)

Thank you

Best regards,

Regis
