Hi I am working with OnCommand System Manager 3.1.3, I am adding some LUNs by FC to Windows but when adding the initiator. It duplicates the disks when I enter the disk manager. I need to know why this is happening.

Hey guys its me again, this time I am stuck on this last little tidbit of migrating from a two-node switchless to switched cluster. The problem I seem to be having as I'm wrapping up the configuration is when I run system cluster-switch show I'm not seeing what the guide says I should. Apparently, I should see: Switch Type Address Model --------------------------- ------------------ ---------------- --------------- C1 cluster-network 10.10.1.101 NX3232CV Serial Number: FOX000001 Is Monitored: true Reason: Software Version: Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS) Software, Version 7.0(3)I6(1) Version Source: CDP But What I get is: Switch Type Address Model --------------------------- ------------------ ---------------- --------------- Nexus1 cluster-network 10.10.1.101 NX3232CV Serial Number: FOX000001 Is Monitored: false Reason: IP address not reachable Software Version: Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS) Software, Version 7.0(3)I6(1) Version Source: CDP Looking through the help guide here: Cluster Switch health monitoring (CSHM) not working, IP address not reachable via SNMP - NetApp Knowledge Base I run through the fixes (everything but the cisco stuff, the guide kinda makes me believe there isnt much configuration to be done on it). But I still can't ping from the cluster to the switch. I'm looking for some advice as this NetApp stuff was thrown in my lap and I was told to run with it. What exactly do I need to do to finish this up?

We have clients complaining for the same issue: copy from their local computer or VDI (Citrix) is to cifs share provided by us is so slow that it stalls, even for small files. The problem occurred after the network share has been migrated from another vendor (Dell) to NetApp, several users complain that the shares that are still at the other vendor are quick and the migrated ones are slow. Not only the copy stalls but sometimes MS office files on the share appear as corrupt and big pictures in them do not load properly. Already did the following investigation and tests: - ping and traceroute from client to data lif and vice versa are perfect and quick. - SMB1 is disabled but clients are using Win10. - Symantec Endpoint Protection is place on VDIs and laptops but policies are handled on company level, clients do not have rights to modify. - AV scan is place, but has been disabled for the tests, no effect on speed - fpolicy is off - cifs changenotify was removed for the tests, no effect on speed - have run tcpdump during test but they appear to be empty, like there was no incoming data - clients can write to the share. - not all clients experience the same. Can I check somehow during a test with a client if they are trying to use SMB1? Did anyone experience something alike?

Hello I am banging my head against the wall and can't find the answer. I have 2 CIFS and want to copy files from one CIFS subfolder to a different CIFS subfolder. Normally I just go to windows file explorer and copy, or even use RoboCopy, Powershell...whatever Here are my problems: can't really do that, the 2 CIFS are in 2 different vLANs, not visible to each other, and the we are talking 1.5 TB with about 4 mil files so, considering NetApps file system WAFL, its all just pointers (in this case at least), so i should be able to use OntAps Powershell module and "tell NetApp" to copy it I can't find the correct cmd or using a wrong syntax I have tried: Copy-NcHostFile Copy-NaHostFile i have tried to get anywhere with get-ncfile get-nccifsshare but i just can't get anything going other than retrieving some info about the shares and the CIFS, but nothing which will list files or even copy a file or an entire subfolder am I missing something, is there a way to script this? I like to script this because this will likely come up more often with different folders. Thanks everybody for your input and help!
