changing security style of qtree to ntfs

I want to discontinue linux style filesystems on my netapp cluster.

When i change the security style of a qtree from linux to ntfs, the underlaying directories are not changed.

Is this not possible with netapp tooling?

(I can copy the data with rsync/robocopy with a mapped user, but that is time consuming)

Hello,

It seems you missed out on checking this box in the advance security settings which says  “Replace all child object entries with the inheritance permission from this object”.

Please refer to this KB for a fix:  How to change security style of volume from UNIX to NTFS in ONTAP 9
