mobilizing CIFS shares from FAS

Hi,

I have few customers running CIFS shares on Netapp FAS. They asked to "mobilize" those documents but not to store them in some kind of cloud since those shares have some sensitive data. Citrix ShareFile has TR on this topic but three issues with Citrix:
- too expensive

- Citrix doesn't know where they are going 

- Complicated with implement, maybe

any other recommendation for this ?

In my opinion, Netapp should add some app on top of ONTAP for this 😊.

The closest thing would be NetApp's Global File Cache. https://cloud.netapp.com/global-file-cache

But that is storing in the cloud.  

By "mobilize" do they mean opening a file from ONTAP via a smartphone or something?

Mount or attach your drive to a server (Windows, Linux, or MAC), you can later use any remote desktop programs or a third-party solution of your choice.
