Hello,

Could you please tell me how to configure HA mode between two controllers of one FAS 2240 and how to share all discs so they can be managed by both controllers.

current configuration.

Hi,

use storage failover modify -mode ha -node nodename to configure node in HA mode. Refer https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1511539/html/storage/disk/assign.html to assign disks.

Hi,

I thought that i need to configure "options cf.mode ha" for each controller?

Regarding disks:

I am not able to find the exact comand which i need to enter to share all dicsks between two controllers:( First controller owns 33 disks second one owns 3 discs. Is it possible to give me some advice with command which i need to enter.

Thank you!

Which OS are you running? : 7 mode or cluster mode?

You can't share disks between controllers. Each disk is assigned to one controller and only this controller can manage it.

Hi,

I want to put two controllers in HA and share disks for whole HA.

To enable HA in 7 mode. Refer https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1210206/html/GUID-4C82CAA6-7010-4112-BA47-A58A040D1573.html

I am assuming that there is no data on the system.

You can change the disk ownership to distribute the disks equally among the HA pair.

Run disk show
Select the disks you want to change the ownership for. Ex 0c.00.14
disk assign 0c:00:14 -s unowned -f
disk show -n
will now show the disk owner as Not owned
Run disk assign 0c:00:14 -o othernode
Verify the change in ownership using disk show.

Hi,

There is important data when we need to keep. i hope that this process will not erase whole information.

In that case, aggregate ownership also needs to be checked. Please contact Netapp support so they can guide you.
