My filer status says " Disk Shelf Fault. Disk Shelf Configuration Error" . Can anyone help me how to troubleshoot this please.

Unless this is a problem with shelf ID (more details in this thread: https://communities.netapp.com/message/54884#54884), you should open a case with NetApp support.
