FAS 2240-4 DS4246 shelf id change whith assigned disks

Hello;

Sorry for that question...

We moved an FAS2440-4 with several DS4246 Shelfes.

The next day i saw that the id of one shelf was blinking orange with  a wrong id, touched it without care.

Can i change the Shelve id while the shelf is hosting assigned disks?

Hello, you can change the ID but you also need a power cycle in order for it to be set it out correctly.

So, you need a downtime to do that.

I am not exactly sure, if you go back to the old ID if it would stop blinking. You can try that, it will not cause any harm.

If it is still blinking, you will need a power cycle of the shelf.
