FAS2020 Question

Hello,

I want to apologize up front. I have no experience with NetApp. I just took on a new job and we have a NetApp. It has 2 FAS2020 controllers in it. I opened NetApp System Manager but no matter what IP address I enter in it won't discover it. I had a Visio drawing which references the IP addresses of the controllers but that doesn't work. Is there another way I can find the storage system on the network?

Thanks,

Try a console cable then run "ifconfig" to see what IP addresses are assigned.

If I had to guess I'd say it has something to do with allowed security protocols/versions supported or enabled in your browser. Old school System Manager(Pre CDOT) is pretty finicky and was missing a lot of features that are only accessible from the command line. You're probably better off using the CLI. Try connecting with a terminal client like Putty. If you can't connect with SSH try telnet which might still be enabled on a FAS2020 system.
