Hi
I have a FAS2552 which came back from a temporary overseas site about 6 months ago. The config should have been wiped before it shipped, but it wasn't who did it.
It's racked and has been powered on since, but doesn't seem to be getting a IP for SP via DHCP as I'd expect. Worse still when I connect to serial ports using a known good RJ45 to serial cable etc. I get no output, even on power-up.
Is there a procedure for completely resetting, like clearing the CMOS on a PC?
Thanks

Try Ctrl-G to access SP. If it also does not work, likely controller is dead.

Confirm your serial connection is correctly configured. For FAS25xx, it would be 9600-8N1, no flow control.

Make sure that the baud rate is correct when you connect through the RJ45 to serial cable, check whether the hardware indicator is on, you can connect another node to check the status here, or log in to sp to check and use the command to restart the machine, if the bmc command does not go, try to plug and unplug the motherboard to restart the machine to check whether there is no output. If there is no output after the restart, and the device is on, there may be a problem with the device motherboard, and the motherboard needs to be replaced

Thanks for your reply, but I think this filer has long since been assigned to the great data centre in the sky.😀

Hello,
if no output on serial and ctrl g not working, you may consider this controller as dead 🤕
