What do you mean by NetApp to external hard drive?
Assuming that you have data in NetApp filer volume and you want to copy to your usb drive connected to your laptop. ->
export the volume in the filer (which might have already been done, just check under exports in filer view).
Now map the volume to your windows host -> \\<filer>:\vol\<vol name> (assuming that this is the path of your volume)
Copy data from filer volume to your drive.
