We have an FAS 8200 HA Multi-Path system. It is connected to four disk shelves (two DS212 and two DS460c) via 12Gb SAS. It has four 10Gb connections to our data network(two LACP pairs). I'm trying to get an idea of the baseline write speed from a single Windows or Linux user to a single volume that is shared via CIFs or NFS. Currently, the max write speeds I have been able to achieve are around 3Gbps, while max read speed values have been as high as 6.5 -7 Gbps. I just want to make sure I'm not expecting the system to do something it isn't capable of, so does anyone know: is it possible to achieve at or near 10Gbps write speed to such a system over a CIFs or NFS network share?

Hi everyone, I’m running an AFF A250 system, and recently, one of the SSDs failed unexpectedly. The system flagged it as failed, but there were no prior warning signs in the logs. Other drives in the same aggregate seem fine, and performance hasn’t been impacted yet. I’ve checked for any firmware updates and ran a basic health check, but I’m wondering what else I should look into. Could this be an isolated hardware failure, or is there a chance something like high write cycles or a controller issue might be contributing? Thanks in advance!

Hello, Ontap cannot boot. I tried any mode. It comes with the same error, also backup image or a new image with loaded with netboot. So i can not get into the Ontap_Bootmenu to change password. I know about the bug: "For ONTAP 9, this issue is mitigated in SP firmware 2.9P1 and later via this Bug (903158)" So i want to install 2.11 firmware, but then i need the SP password. (Bootloader ctrl G) I don't have this password. Is there anyway to reset this password? Maybe on the Bootloader "priv set test"? Or use another account? Anything?? BIOS version: 8.3.0 Bootloader 4.3 SP Firmware: 2.8P1 Not bootable: Ontap 9.5P8 Or backup 9.4P5. I'll hope you can help.

Hello, I have managed to get myself a FAS2552 but it gives a boot error: This platform is not supported in this release on both controllers. Running current Firmware Version: 2.8P1. So, I need to update the version of the SP to SP 2.11, but i cannot download it anymore on the Netapp support site. This one gives me an error: https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/downloads/firmware/system-firmware-diagnostics/download/SYSTEM/30803994_sp/SP_FW_308-03994_2.11.tgz Thank you!

Hello, New to netapp! 🙂 I have managed to get myself a FAS2552 but it gives a boot error: This platform is not supported in this release. I tried several Ontap versions (netboot) but it's al the same error. Already ordered a new Micron eusb disk (usb 2.0) just i case, but i also see the Bios/BSD Bootloader are very old. Can someone point me out where i can find the firmware update files, because it not on support.netapp.com. I guess because it "End of Life", or can someone maybe send me the files? Thanks in advance.
