Hi, I have couple of dozen FAS2220 NetApp Release 8.2.5P5 7-Mode arrays. I have also a stock of brand new disks I use to replace failed disks. The disks are not sent by vendor as there is no support for those devices anymore but they are purchased from Netapp partner. Unfortunately quite frequently new disks are not accepted by the array. It's very random. Sometimes there is no issue at all and the other time after the replacement even size of the disk is not recognized. Sometimes i have to try 5 new disks untiull finally one of them will be added to the pool. How can I find the root cause ? If that would be one array i'd suspect hardware issue but if it happens on many separate arrays. slot 0: SAS Host Adapter 0a (PMC-Sierra PM8001 rev. Hi all,
we have FAS2620 that comes with 12 disk (2TB). During the installation fo the cluster the disks have been partitioned and have root and data partition and the ownership was assigned automatically. Half of the disks are owned by the first node and the other half by the second node.
I am just wondering if I can change the ownership of some disk that belongs to the second node and assign them to the first node so that it would be possible to create an aggregate of a bigger size. The root partitions of the disks assigned to the second node are at the moment used by the root aggregate of this node.
Any ideas, best practicies?
Thanks!

We have an FAS 8200 HA Multi-Path system. It is connected to four disk shelves (two DS212 and two DS460c) via 12Gb SAS. It has four 10Gb connections to our data network(two LACP pairs). I'm trying to get an idea of the baseline write speed from a single Windows or Linux user to a single volume that is shared via CIFs or NFS. Currently, the max write speeds I have been able to achieve are around 3Gbps, while max read speed values have been as high as 6.5 -7 Gbps. I just want to make sure I'm not expecting the system to do something it isn't capable of, so does anyone know: is it possible to achieve at or near 10Gbps write speed to such a system over a CIFs or NFS network share?

Hello, Ontap cannot boot. I tried any mode. It comes with the same error, also backup image or a new image with loaded with netboot. So i can not get into the Ontap_Bootmenu to change password. I know about the bug: "For ONTAP 9, this issue is mitigated in SP firmware 2.9P1 and later via this Bug (903158)" So i want to install 2.11 firmware, but then i need the SP password. (Bootloader ctrl G) I don't have this password. Is there anyway to reset this password? Maybe on the Bootloader "priv set test"? Or use another account? Anything?? BIOS version: 8.3.0 Bootloader 4.3 SP Firmware: 2.8P1 Not bootable: Ontap 9.5P8 Or backup 9.4P5. I'll hope you can help.
