Hi to all havent done any head upgrade before, trying to learn some new stuff. Customer wants to head upgrade their FAS8020 HA pair to 1 controller FAS8060 . The existing FAS8020 is working as snapmirror destination data, Is this possible to replace an HA pair to only single controller cluster? The FAS820 is 9.8p17version (9.8 is the latest for this platfrom) thanks everyone

Dear Professionals, I have 2 FAS2520s, all with sigle controllers. Is it possible to create a node Cluster from them (switchless maybe)? There are 12-12 identical discs in each of them2. I would use them for NFS. Thanks for your answers, _Peter

Dear Sirs: I have a single chassis of FAS2720 (two nodes with HA). FAS2720 HW description 1. two nodes (two controllers) with HA. 2. No attached extension disk shelf. 3. no SAS-extension port (0a,0b) cable connected. For empty status on each 0a,0b SAS-ports. When I check the sysconfig -a on admin mode, the output is shown as "Single-Path". Of course, there is no cross-connection between controller_A and controller_B on base system chassis's SAS ports. The SAS path redundancy is single-path. if there is a disk shelf installed on this FAS2720, the SAS path redundancy should be Multi-Path. I think that the backend of the chassis connection is connected with controller A/B. Question 1. Is it normal or abnormal status? Question 2. if there is controller failover/takeover operation, is there another issue with the loss of the disk path because of the single-path condition? Someone told me the SAS cable should be connected between controller_A's ports and controller_B's ports under the cross-connection rule. e.g. > Connect between controller_A's 0a and controller_B's 0b and connect between controller_A's 0b and controller_B's 0a. Please let me know if you have any tips or formal documents. Kind Regards! SangKyun, Hong

Hi, Customer has FAS8080 firmware v9.1P14. We replace failed disk for customer, when new disk is plugged in, command disk assign fail with these messages: cluster1::> disk assign -disk x.y.z -pool 0 -owner cluster1-01 The management gateway server restarted. Waiting to see if the connection can be reestablished. The connection with the management gateway server has been reestablished. If the root cause of the interupption was a process core, you can see the core file details by issuing the following command: system node coredump show -node local -type application -corename mgwd.* -instance cluster1::> Customer say that each time they issue command "disk show" for the new disk the log message management gatewary server restarted happen, but not for other disks. We aslo download the cordump files (-type application) but can't see the contents. The new disk is now in unassigned status. 1. How can we read the coredump file? 2. Is there a workaround to fix this "management gateway server restarted" ? 3. We have other second spare disk, and want to try take out 1st spare disk, then plug-in 2nd spare disk. Can we hot-plug out the 1st spare disk currently in unassigned status? Is there any procedure/command should be done before? Thanks in advance.
