netapp ds2246 used

I want to buy a used netapp ds2246. but the seller has 4 units but does not have the connection cables, I want to know what I need to be able to test if it works...?

To use them in windows do I need some licensed software...?

do you recommend using it on windows or is it better to use it on linux...?

NetApp DS2246 disk shelves are manufactured and certified for use with NetApp ONTAP systems. Any off-label use is not something we can assist with. You would be better to view https://reddit.com/r/homelab for that sort of question.
