In its latest April release, BlueXP Backup and Recovery for Applications (formerly Cloud Backup for Applications) has expanded its support to include Oracle on Azure NetApp Files (ANF). With this update, users who have an Oracle database deployed on ANF can now utilize this service to perform application-consistent backup and recovery.
Prerequisites:
- Register in BlueXP, and set up an account to manage the workspaces and other data services
- Create a service principal or application in Azure Active Directory and assign it to a resource group with Azure NetApp Files and a custom role. You can find the steps for creating a service principal/application on this documentation page.
- Use the details from step 2 to create credentials in BlueXP that provide permission to connect and manage Azure NetApp Files.
- Add the Azure NetApp Files working environment in BlueXP using the credentials you created in step 3.
- Make sure your Azure account has the required permissions before creating a BlueXP connector. If it doesn't, follow the link in step 6 to grant the necessary permissions.
- Create a BlueXP connector for Azure. This will allow services such as BlueXP backup and recovery to manage resources and processes in your Azure environment.
- Ensure that the connector has outbound internet access or a proxy server for all outgoing internet traffic. However, there is no incoming traffic required for the connector.
