In 7-mode snapvault is Only qtree based if you want to manage it via OCUM Protection manager. If not, you can do vol/ - destination qtree If you do NOT have any qtrees, you can use /- to /-

I'm not sure at what scale you are trying to do this, but it could be a custom script.. Also, there is a feature in operations manager where you can capture and/or push configuration files down.. See if that will help you.

When you are talking operations manager, I assume you are talking oncommand unified manager 5.x. I'm not aware of anyway to do this other than custom scripting... I could be wrong though

For powershell to work in cdot, you need to create a security login access to ontapi. Also, ensure your domain-tunnel is working in 8.3 if you are using domain authentication

I don't think you can snapvault to a cdot cluster. You can create an TDP relationship (transitional snapshot), but snapvault works very different in cdot 8.3.x. It's based on snapmirror labels, but you can't snapmirror (TDP) a snapvault secondary to cdot. That will fail.

I see that every 30 minutes WFA is attaching to our OCUM 6.x environment. But, what I don't understand is in a workflow, why it's still trying to create shares on our DR side that no longer exist on the prod side?

Guys.. I must be having a complete brainfreeze.. I'm getting the following errror connect-nccontroller : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. At line:1 char:1 + connect-nccontroller svm -cred admin + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : InvalidResult: (svm:NcController) [Connect-NcController], NullReferenceException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : HttpConnectionFailed,DataONTAP.C.PowerShell.SDK.ConnectNcController I ensure the member i'm using is a member of local admin group and i create security login for the user with ontapi access via the doamin. I ensure domain tunneling is on. So at this point, i'm stumped..

I'm not a fan of volumes of different units.. So your one was in K and one was in T. I like to make sure they are in the same unit, either GB, TB with volumes that size. Also, if you were on 8.2.3, 8.2 introduced autoresizing of the DR side.

The first volume prod size is larger than the DR side so this will not work. Also, both should be in the same unit. Do yourself a favor, set both sides to 12TB vol size volname 12t - Start with that baseline and then you will be fine. Snapmirror should work without issue

Log into each controller and do a vol size on each for the first volume.. Make sure they are the same size On the second one show us snamirror -l of the relationship and a snap list of the dst side. Also, you are running 8.1.2, it's time to think about upgrading

Let me make sure I understand what you are asking. Are you asking if you have a 2-node switchless cluster, can you export volumes over NFS to Vmware? If that's the question, I don't see why not

I hate to bash Netapp, but I think the implementation of SVM-DR in 8.3.1 is a little lacking.. For customers like you and I that needed to flexclone off and attach to another vfiler for testing, that doesn't exist at all. Only option you have is separate online SVM that you are Snapmirroring too

We have been part of the beta program for SVM-DR for a while and are now still testing it in RC1. We are huge vfiler-dr shop. If you have any need to flexclone off the DR, then svm-dr will NOT work for you since you cannot flexclone off an SVM-DR. We aren't even considering SVM-DR because identity discard/preserve methods just don't fit the bill.

All or some of the shelves from the HA pair. If some, you are going to have to shutdown the controllers to remove the shelves.. If it's some, then you need to move /etc to a new root vol

Ok i apologize for keep asking but i want to make sure i follow. Your vaulted shares seem to be going to an aggregate with enough iops based on your above disk layout. I assume you have hybrid aggrs with sas and ssd. Gimme exact raid group layout of the destination shares underlying aggr. I just want to triple check Also did someone accidently put qos on?
