I like to use a web server for backing up filer configs. At this point I am not success but a colleague of mine suggested using OCUM. We are running ONTAP 9.8P4 version. This a new update as ftp no longer supported. I've tried everything and not yet able to get a successful upload. I need that in order to setup the settings to do this consistently. Server is Centos 7.1 and OCUM is 9.5 version not an OVA version. Has any one done this before? Phillip

Hi, I have an aggregate (aggr3_03) with fabricpool with a bucket only for it. All volumes have been moved out from fabricpool to local disk, on the aggregate space info i see 239.0TB of object-store-unreclaimed-space. This is getting lower about 4TB a day. Is there any way to increase this speedy?? Destroying the aggregate is a fast way to free the space? Ricardo Sa

We have a SVM with running NFS v4. We have Solaris 11 and RH Linux clients in the export policy. Does it matter as far as sticky bit operations as which host (Solaris v. Linux ) access the NetApp first? The first client to access the volume was a Linux RH 7 client. While performing an rync permissions within the volume on directories and files displayed nobody:nobody. This lead to setting the SVM domain setting from default to our prod domain. And then the the nobody issue went away. However this caused Solaris 11 systems unable to set a sticky bit or change file permissions. Any thoughts? Thanks

If I total all the disks shown here, I come up with just 90 listed disks. There are no unassigned disks. How do I go about finding out why these disks are hidden and how can I allocate / use them? The other question is I have one failed disk in 3c.00.22, however, it's not part of any of the disks listed in the aggregate. As the system is no longer under a support contract, I'm trying to ascertain the risk and how many disks I can afford to lose before data integrity becomes an issue. Critical data has been backed up, so it's not a disaster, just a risk assessment I'm trying to do. I guess it depends which combination of disks fail - more than two in a same RAID group and it goes down, but more drives can fail if spread across different RAID groups. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi An authentication error occurred in the following recovery. ① Back up the Win10 system image and store the data in NetApp(\\ 11.11.11.11 \ bkup) . ② From Win10, try to perform system recovery with the image and connect to the NetApp shared folder (\\ 11.11.11.11 \ bkup) where the image is stored. ③ When connecting, I was asked for a user name and password, and I enter them and execute OK, an authentication error was occured. Regarding③, I would like to eliminate the authentication error so that the restore can be completed normally. As an environment, I have created a local account "AAA" on NetApp's Cifs server (workgroup mode). Normally, when connecting from Win10, the same local account "AAA" is registered on the Win10 side and the password is also matched, so I can connect without displaying the authentication screen. For the account entered in ③, I tried using 3 patterns of "AAA", "CifsServer name \ AAA", and "\ AAA", but all of them resulted in an authentication error. Thanks
