Hi Dhiman, Ontap 8.2 brought in a new licensing architecture and to monitor the same one would need OCUM 5.2 and not 5.1 Also OCUM 5.1 was a FCS release and did not get GA status unlike OCUM 5.2 which is a GA release. To answer you specific questions see my response below. 1. Is OnCommand 5.1 no longer a viable option to manage CDoT systems running Ontap 8.2 Yes with OCUM 5.1 one cant monitor ONTAP 8.2 where as one can monitor any ontap version including 8.2 with OCUM 5.2 2. How the OnCommand alerting features are different for CDoT compared to DoT versions. The release notes does not provide accurate information. They are the same kind of alerts except for few alerts specific to cDot are added like lif migration and vol move, vServer etc and few in 7Mode like vFiler related are removed. 3. Additionally are the alerts for monitoring Infinite CDoT volumes and aggregates define in OnCommand 5.1 and/or 5.2; or is it supported only in OnCommand 6.0 Discovery and Alerting of Infinite volume is supported in OCUM 6.0 for sure. AFAIK, these inventory are not reported in 7-Mode Ops Mgr, except Flash Pool. But for c-Mode,in OCUM 6.0 we report on Flash Cache and Flash Pool I suppose and not sure of CPU Core Count or Socket Regards adai

Hi Tom, This is a known issue due to an API Change, please open a case and add it to bug 741312. A D patch for the same is in progress and is planned out of 5.2P1. Long answer is, if you don't care about the history accumulated in DFMA for filer A, then you can discover filerA in DFMB, but you will not have the history of the same. Hi Yves, OCUM asup and DOT asup are totally different. In case of OCUM ASUP we bascially sent the output of dfm diag and few more data and nothing related to DOT. Where in case of DOT, ASUP one will send, the entire log folder and other data. In Fact AFAIK, OCUM asup is not linked with MyASUP. Hope this helps. Regards adai

Hi, Also, provisioning manager allows you only with the canned set of policies to provision, volume or qtree in 7-Mode only as righlty said by Bryan. Hi The cluster mode only is called OCUM 6.0 which is a VMware only vApp. The OCUM 5.x, ( which represents 5.1,5.2) still includes all of the protection,provisioning and operations manager as well as performance Advisor which is applicable for 7-Mode. The OCUM 5.x also support cluster mode but that restricted to only Operations Manager and Performance Advisor. Hope this helps Regards adai

If you had upgraded to 5.2 with value of 4 weeks and all events older than 4 weeks would have been purged. But post upgrade, it starts accumulating. The behaviour is changing the upcoming release, similar to what happens during upgrade. Regards adai
