Hello,

Can HPE DAC Cables “Aruba 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 7m Direct Attach Copper Cable, P.N.: J9285D" be connected to AFF A250?

Thanks,

Hayam

I just noticed the cable you mentioned says "SFP+": those normally support up to 16Gb/s speed, while AFF A250 onboard ports are 25Gb only, thus using SFP28

The cable you have mentioned will not be working in A250 ports.

hello @Hayam_Mohamed

as those cables do not show up as compatible in hardware universe we cannot guarantee compatibility with them, you are still free to use them for front-end connections (e.g. to your data network) but ONTAP might report the use of an unsupported cable/SFP in the EMS logs.

Pretty sure Cisco CODED twinax cables work. I’ve seen varying successes and failures using other twinax cables (more failures than success). Getting 3rd party Cisco coded cables are not terribly expensive.

Note I am not saying supported here. I know they work and have for a very long time.
