Hello Ahmed,

We do not need to select aggr’s NAS and SAN work loads.

  • An aggregate is a collection of physical disks only.
  • We need to specify the raid type, the owner node and some disk related parameters while creating an aggr. NAS and SAN are not specified here.

https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap-cli/storage-aggregate-create.html#parameters

  • Vols, Qtrees, LUNs are logical entities which get created on top of an aggr through which client can access data and these are dedicated to SVM's or Vservers.
  • We have to specify the NAS and SAN protocol (nfs|cifs|fcp|iscsi) at the vserver level. Not at the aggr level.

Hope this information is helpful.

Hello,

The AGGR is the support for Volimes, Volime can contain NAS or-and LUN

you chose the protocole in the SVM config, @this point you can select NAS or SAN SVM

the AGGR with or without ADP can manage the twice
