Is there a recommendation on performing a system baseline in PerfAdv? My customer would like to baseline a controller using IOPs per system and aggregate, throughput per interface, and loop metrics.
Run Perfomance Advisor and other tools on non-prod systems while hitting with other tools like 'hammer' local, and sio from client hosts.
Do not abuse production environs.
Enjoy abusing a NetApp !

Pls use the baseline feature of the thresholds where you have a new button starting DFM 4.0 in PA called suggest which will give you all this.
Like mean, median, min , max and 95th percentile etc.

Where will these baseline numbers come from ?
What kinds of loads should be generated for the system ?

The baseline data comes from the Performance Advisor data that are collected since PA was collecting default counter info at 1 min interval.
You dont have to generate any workloads, this is collected regularly based on the workloads that are already on the storage system.
Like the user reads/write or application read/write.
