Hello DFM team,

Customer has this question.

On dfm version:  3.8.1 there is a report called volumes-dedupe-and-lun-file-clones-space-saving

Tried to run the report on 3.7.1 with no luck:

[root@dfm root]# dfm report volumes-dedupe-and-lun-file-clones-space-savings                       Warning: Use of this command for listing and viewing reports has been

deprecated by 'dfm report list' and 'dfm report view' commands respectively.

There is no volumes-dedupe-and-lun-file-clones-space-savings report.

Would anyone know about this report?

Is this a default report that comes with installation or it may be customized?

Is there any document describing the list of default DFM reports that comes with the installation?

If this is default report on 3.8.1, can this be customized on 3.7.1?

Regards,

Sridhar Vaddadi (TGA)

Hi Sridhar Vaddadi,

The report "volumes-dedupe-and-lun-file-clones-space-savings" is not available in DFM 3.7.1.

Deduplication reports and graphs are enhancement requests addressed only in DFM 3.8. These are made as canned reports and readily available in releases >= 3.8. This report details the space savings of the volumes on which Dedupe is enabled.

AFAIK, you cannot customize this report on 3.7.1 since DFM doesnt know the Dedupe status of volumes.

Saravanan

You can use the "dfm report list" command. This will present a short description of the report, e.g.

events-warning            show current warning or worse events

You can also use "dfm report view <report-name> help" to check the list of columns in any report, as:

dfm report view events-warning help
Warning or Worse Report (events-warning)
Shows current events.

Columns:
     eventSeverity        Severity
     eventId              Event ID
     eventDescription     Event
     eventTimestamp       Triggered
     eventAckedBy         Ack'ed By
     eventAcked           Ack'ed
     objId                Source ID
     objFullName          Source

Default sort order is -eventTimestamp.
