Is the DFM or backup dir on a NFS mount point? If so, can you try to do the backup on a non-NFS directory?
Yes. the DFM db backup is to NFS mounted disk. Tried backup to local disk and it works fine - thanks for the suggestion in trying this. Could be then issue with NFS disk export permissions.
I use a nfs mount for backup and it has been working for a while. Then I get the same error: SQLAnywhere(dfmbackupdbvalidengine): Error: Database cannot be started -- Unknown error (37).
I restarted the nfslock service because the nfslock service hang up -> now it works.
So DFM database backup doesn't support NFS?
I just tried it on "dfm 4.0.2 (4.0.2)", where /storage-03/backup_dfm/ is NFS volume with 777 permissions and DFM host has root permissions on it:
==> access.log <==

==> dfmserver.log <==
Aug 02 13:53:40 [dfmserver:ERROR]: [6399:0xeefffb90]: Error: Unable to confirm space available in /storage-03/backup_dfm/.
Could someont clarify that please?
Thanks,
Vladimir
An answer, perhaps?
Does the "DFM database backup" supports NFS?
Thanks.
