Hi Guys,

Customer will do header upgrade from 3050 to 6080 and he needs not interrupt dfm info from this host.

We know after swap head SYSTEM ID will change and DFM will not see machine like older head.

What we can do to keep that ?

PS: Host name and IP will not change.

Regards,

Alexandre

If you maintain the host name and IP, OpsMgr should be able to handle

this change seamlessly without any issues, preserving all the history.

Once OpsMgr detects the system ID change, it will generate

host:system-id-changed informational event for this system.

Please read the FAQ page about how to maintain data on head-swaps.

http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/DFM_win/rel371/html/faq/index.shtml

See FAQ number 9.10 "What do I do after changing the head, host name or the IP address of an appliance?"

The FAQs are also embedded in the help system of the DFM/OM web UI.

We have changed heads 3 times in 2008 and DFM did not miss a beat.
