There are about 20 existing OSSV relationships - Solaris only.

We're unable to import them into Protection Manager.

Is this supported?

Hi Scott,

Yes.Make sure you have the  following done.

  1. The Ossv host and the destination filer is  added to the DFM with the NDMP credentials set.
  2. You should have a  new or a existing dataset with Remote backup policy or backup policy  without local backup schedule.
  3. Make sure the relationships are discovered in the external relationships page.
Goto the external relatiship page  and import the same or use the cli's, dfpm dataset import.

Hi,

Maybe you can help me. I'm also trying to port OSSV relationships to Protection Manager, but I have not added the Solaris hosts to Protection Manager, due to the netapp host agent cannot talk to OSSV agent. In Linux there is a plugin to make the OSSV-Host Agent connection, but in solaris I believe there is not.

Do you know someting about it?

HostAgent is not mandatory for manging OSSV in PM.

Having HA only allows to start and stop OSSV service from PM.

You select the option of add with out NetApp Host Agent in the OSSV host add page of NMC.

Adai,

Thanks for the tip!!!. The option is not showed if the host agent is up on the host. I've stopped the HA service and added the Solaris hosts.
