I can not think of a reason why it would not work but when it is in use it places a high load on the system. We have had to upgrade our DFM hardware twice now, as we have added extra filers.

Thanks for the info

I need to make sure that it supports Virtual enviroment, funny enough i have looked everywhere and it is not mentioned anywhere, so i guess i can assume it does.

If you do find any infomation then please let me know

Thanks

Operations Manager can run on various versions of Windows and Linux guests

on VMWare. The Operations Manager support matrix, available on the NOW site,

lists these for the 3.7 release.

VMware ESX server 3.0.1 (or later) guest
OS: Windows 2003 server (32-bit)

VMware ESX server 3.0.1 (or later) guest
OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS v4

The support matrix for 3.6 lists

VMware® ESX server 3.0.1 (or later) guest
OS: Windows 2003 server (32-bit)

Hope that helps.

It is supported as a VM in VMWare ESX 3.0.1 as a Windows or a Linux Guest OS - it's stated on the Support Matrix which you should find on NOW:

http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/olio/guides/dfm_compatibility/DFM.shtml#OS (Check the 3.6/3.7 entries)

The previous post is an extremely valid poitn however in that the platform still needs to sized correctly and in larger environments you'll probably wish to dedicate a physical platform; The sizing guides can be found here:
