Hi,
I am running NetApp 8.3.2. I created about 500 volumes and then I deleted those volumes. But it is not getting reflected in the aggregate and I am not able to create new volumes.
naqa253may23::> vol create -volume abc -aggregate aggr1 -size 20MB -state online [Job 1130] Job is queued: Create abc. Error: command failed: [Job 1130] Job failed: Maximum number of volumes reached on node “127.0.0.1”. naqa253may23::> vol show Vserver Volume Aggregate State Type Size Available Used% --------- ------------ ------------ ---------- ---- ---------- ---------- ----- naqa253may23-01 vol0 aggr0 online RW 3.16GB 768.4MB 76% svm249may23 BVT_smb1 aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.99GB 0% svm249may23 BVT_smb2 aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.98GB 0% svm249may23 BVT_smb3 aggr1 online RW 10GB 10.00GB 0% svm249may23 Rakesh_smb1 aggr1 online RW 5GB 5.00GB 0% svm249may23 Sabareesh_NFS aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.50GB 5% svm249may23 Sabareesh_SMB aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.50GB 5% svm249may23 Sabareesh_SMB1 aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.49GB 5% svm249may23 manish_smb aggr1 online RW 20GB 18.81GB 5% svm249may23 peeyush_nfs1 aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.99GB 0% svm249may23 peeyush_nfs2 aggr1 online RW 10GB 10.00GB 0% svm249may23 peeyush_smb1 aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.91GB 0% svm249may23 peeyush_smb2 aggr1 online RW 10GB 9.41GB 5% svm249may23 peeyush_smb3 aggr1 online RW 10GB 7.36GB 26% svm249may23 svm249may23_root aggr1 online RW 20MB 18.73MB 6% 15 entries were displayed. naqa253may23::> aggr show Aggregate Size Available Used% State #Vols Nodes RAID Status --------- -------- --------- ----- ------- ------ ---------------- ------------ aggr0 3.34GB 167.4MB 95% online 1 naqa253may23-01 raid_dp, normal aggr1 172.3GB 161.3GB 6% online 499 naqa253may23-01 raid_dp, normal 2 entries were displayed.
Why does my aggregate still show that I have 499 volumes and why can't I create more volumes. I have also set unlimited volumes for the Vserver.
naqa253may23::> vserver show -vserver svm249may23 -fields max-volumes vserver max-volumes ----------- ----------- svm249may23 unlimited
How can I create a new volume? Thanks for your help!

In ONTAP 8.3 the Volume Recovery Queue was introduced.
It may be the problem.
Volumes don't realy get deleted 'till 12hrs after you delete them.
I hope this response has been helpful to you.
