Hi,
we have a new Netapp storage... and I use the volume autogrow feature... (no problem)
But how and where can I activate e-mail notifications for "autogrow" events?!
I get mails from many events e.g. "volume full", "volume nearly full", "Snapshots fulle" etc.....
Receiving mails from "autogrow" is impossible !?!?!
Who knows where and how to configure this?
thx
daniel

Hi Said,
thx for your answer..
But the "volume-grow-rate" alarm is not what I need.
I already get these notifications.
But, I think I have the solution for this problem.
On the DFM (Management Console), I found under "Alarm -> by Event" the entry named "Volume Autosized".
I activated this alarm, but nothing has happened....confusion...
I had also set the DFM as trap receivers
On the Filer "System Manager" was only one SNMP TrapReceiver configured. (Our external Monitoring System)
So, I added the DFM as TrapReceiver and now it works fine!
I don't understand why I need SNMP Traps for some notifications and for other events it works without SNMP??? This is confusing....
Here my sample e-mail notification:
##############################
dfm: Information event on filer01:/Autosize_test_DS (Volume Autosized)
An Information event at 07 Feb 14:58 W. on Volume Autosize_test_DS on Active/Active Controller filer01:

Hello Daniel,
I don't know if we can receive nothification for autoGrow.
If this can help, i found this options on DFM about growth rate:
# dfm eventType list
Event Name Severity Class
-------------------------------------------------- ------------ ------------------
.....
volume-growth-rate:abnormal Warning volume.growthrate
volume-growth-rate:ok Normal volume.growthrate
.......
# dfm volume get -q Vol-Test
...
volGrowthEventMinChangePct=1
.....
You can set the value of "volGrowthEventMinChangePct" with the value you want
# dfm volume set Vol-Test volGrowthEventMinChangePct=value
You can then create an alarm :
# dfm help alarm
NAME
alarm -- create, modify, delete, and list alarms
SYNOPSIS
dfm alarm create [ -E <email-to-addresses> ] [ -F <page-to-addresses> ]
[ -C <event-class> ] [ -A <admin-login-name> ]
[ -P <page-to-admin> ] [ -T <trap-to> ] [ -s <script> ]
[ -u <alarmScriptRunAs> ] [ -g <group> ] [ -h <event-name> ]
[ -l <time-from> ] [ -m <time-to> ] [ -v <event-severity> ]
[ -r <repeat-notify> ] [ -i <repeat-interval> ]
[ -b <disabled> ]
