snapmirror use the network address translation (NAT)

Is NAT supported with Ontap 9.6 and snapmirror now?

I'm afraid not. I actually tested it on both ways when the 9.7 Simulator was released. Also trying to manipulate it doesn't work. The peer get created but one site see the other as unreachable.
