Getting error in SnapCenter v4.8 -> Monitor ->Jobs log after trying to delete an SQL Server DB clone (tried also with force delete):

Delete clone failed. The resource(s) 'xxxxxxxxx' are protected by the user(s) 'my user' Remove the protection(s) and retry the operation.

How can I remove the clone protection?

Have you checked if the resource (cloned volume) is protected in the SnapCenter ?

Where exactly in SnapCenter can I check/disable that?

Following the instruction on this page, could you send us the screenshot of the CLONED resource that you are trying to delete ?

Question for you

Are the cloned databases still mounted to your sql server? If they do not exist in your SQL management studio,  please check if all the disks related to that cloned database are unmounted.

So if you still have the issue after unmounting the clones, then we recommend opening a case with NetApp support as it needs further investigation and a possible Snapcenter Database edit.
