Data Backup and Recovery
Hi all,
I am curently installing HU6.1 and SDU 5.2 on a RHEL Server 6.3 64-bit. Later I will use SMO 3.3 with it.
I am using Qloogic HBAs in it. The config is ok as I checked it in the interoperability matrix!
HU 6.1 is working but snapdrive failed

HI Swann,
Follow the KB "SDU fails to find the storage stack on the host system"

And I can see lun with HU :

HI Swann,
Follow the KB "SDU fails to find the storage stack on the host system"
Best regards
Philippe
Hi Philippe,
Many thanks for the KB :
qla2xxx /usr/lib/libqlsdm.so was missing in my hba.conf !
Now it's working well.
Swann
Hi
also look at the following link:
You have to add the following Variable to your shell (I have added it in one of the first lines of /etc/init.d/snapdrived)
LVM_SUPPRESS_FD_WARNINGS=1 ; export LVM_SUPPRESS_FD_WARNINGS
Then
snapdrived restart
And now your command (snapdrive storage show -all) will work
Thanks,
Horst
BTW: What do you get with the command "snapdrive config list"? Have you configured it?
Also in your snapdrive.conf file you need to have one of the following combinations:
You must enter acceptable values for multipathing-type, fstype, default-transport, and
vmtype variables in the snapdrive.conf file as provided in the matrix stack. You must ensure that
the values entered are installed and running in your host system.
If you still get the error when Snapdrivdaemon start, ignore it 😉
The most important thing is the command "snapdrive storage show -all"
Hi Pauli,
I already try this without success.
Just for information :
"sanlun lun show" is OK
"snapdrive config set" was done
"snapdrive snap show -filer myfiler" is OK
"snapdrive storage show -all" Failed with this error : "0001-185 Command error: storage show failed: no NETAPP devices to show or add the host to the trusted hosts (options trusted.hosts) on the storage system or retry after changing snapdrive.conf to use https for storage system communication and restarting snapdrive daemon."
But in sd-trace.log I found this explicit error :
[f6763b70]i,2,6,Operation::addErrorReport: (1) Operation:??? 6 1877:HBA assistant not found. Commands involving LUNs should fail.
[f6763b70]E,2,6,FileSpecOperation::init: No tranport assistants found
Now with the modification of the file hba.conf everything works.
Thanks,
Swann
Hi Swann,
Did you ever resolve your issue? We are having the same problem with Emulex cards.
Thanks!
Ilya
Hi Ilya,
Yes,I just edit the hba.conf file to add the path for 32bit library (see this kb for Qlogic :https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=2017573)
Swann
Hi Llya,
Did you get it working with Emulex card?
Thanks
Glen
