Hey all, Continuing the theme of "May we live in interesting host virtualization times" and in response to customer asks for additional host virtualization support in DII, we are developing an OpenShift Virtualization data collector to treat these VMs as.... Virtual Machines. This project is fairly far along, such that inventory and performance capabilities are rounding into solid shape. If you would like me to patch your DII tenant to introduce this tile, and discuss how to deploy this collector type, drop me a note at ostiguy at netapp dot com Otherwise, you will likely see this new collector tile show up in weeks, not months. We find ourselves in the 6th month of the year, so it is time to think about what is happening in calendar Q3 - one of the data collection projects we will be kicking off is research into the possibility of adding Proxmox virtualization support to DII. If you would be interested in Proxmox support in DII, drop me a note at ostiguy at netapp dot com . Please let me know what protocols and storage vendors you are using with Proxmox. Thanks Matt

New quarter, new balls to juggle. We are researching the feasibility of adding Qumulo support to DII. If you are a DII user and would like to see this collector added, drop me a note at ostiguy at netapp dot com and we can chat as to how we can work to make this happen

Another data collection initiative we have under way is adding support for Nutanix Acropolis virtualization environments. If you would like to see this collector early in Preview state, drop me a note at ostiguy at netapp dot com , and we can chat on how to proceed

Hey all, I suspect we are not alone in finding the world of on premises virtualization has gotten... interesting... in the past few years. Some customers have expressed interest in the open source oVirt project, or Oracle's version, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) and getting visibility for these environments in DII similar to how our Vmware, Hyper-V, etc collectors work. We have an active effort in flight to enhance our existing Red Hat Virtualization collector - this is the project that Red Hat open-sourced and became oVirt and then OLVM = all 3 of these expose basically the same REST API. We have already added Oauth authentication support, and are working on further enhancements. If you are evaluating oVirt or OLVM and are a DII user, you can actually get started with pointing a Red Hat RHV collector at those environments - we do intend to add another OLVM "tile" for this collector, but that is effectively a cosmetic aspect, as the RHV collector-type will have the same functionality. Feel free to reach out to me at ostiguy at netapp dot com if you have any questions or would like to know more Thanks, Matt
