IBM TL compatibility with FAS3240

We are using Netapp FAS3240 and we have existing IBM 3500 GEN 5 tape library. Want to know is it compatible with filer for NDMP and if no, is there any workaround.

Hi

There are 2 different ways of doing NDMP.

1. Tape drive is attached to the FAS System, Library is connected to the Backupserver

2. Tape and Library are attached to the Backup Server

Case 1: The Library Type doesnt really mather, only the Tape drives has to be support on the NetApp System

Case 2: Tape Drive and Library Type doesnt mather at all

At the FAS CLI, Type "storage show tape supported -v" to get the list of supported Tape Drives. Or you can see the complete list of supported tape devices here http://www.netapp.com/us/solutions/a-z/data-protection-devices.html
