Plan to install SMBR 8.3 and SnapCenter 6.1. can someone share your experience?

will  install SnapCenter and SMBR on different servers.

1. on SnapCenter server, push Exchange plug in to Exchange servers, connect to NetApp SVM, configure snapshot policy

2. on SMBR server, install outlook 2016 32bit, SnapCenter windows plug in, SMBR software, FC connections to NetApp storage

any correction on my plan? Not sure if i should install SCW on SMBR server.

SnapCenter versions only go through 4.x presently, are you working with SnapManager/SnapDrive in the case of the 6.1?

Page 7/8 of the following documentation depicts the prerequisites to install and use SMBR 8.3:

Also, depending on the environment you're installing this on, you may consider the following:

We found the SMBR/SnapCenter integration too problematic.  Instead, I created a PSTK script to get the backups of the exchange db in question, clone the preferred backup and attach it to a management box via in-guest iSCSI.  We then open the edb with SMBR and restore what's requested.

@CSCOTTENO,

thank you for the feedback. This is something I can pass on to the interested teams to try and improve the experience with SMBR for future.
