Tape write speed really low

Hello,

Last months our back-up speeds are really low.

Before a full daily backup took about 8 to 10 hours.

Now we are close to 24 hours.

We are looking in to the netapp system.

I ran a sysstat -x command and the data show me a really slow write to tape speed while the back-up is running.

Anyone an idea what to do?

There are many things that could be involved, but few months ago i spent weeks in a similar issue and at the end the issue was my old TAN switch that have issues on SFP and ports where the tape was attached.

Try to check on the switch if there are errors on the port.
