Can Microsoft DPM be used along with snapmanger for Hyper-v to take VM backup at the same Hyper-v host?

will they interfere somehow?

Yes, this will be an issue. Both DPM and SMHV uses VSS framework for Hyper-V backup using

Hyper-V VSS writer. Two VSS backup cannot run on same system at the same time.

SMHV has this protection to check if another backup is running before starting a new backup and their by preventing this error.

Adding to what Vineeth has explained below, two overlapping backups from two different products for a VM on a CSV can also cause serious issues. CSV does not keep the ‘backup in progress’ state per requester. Hence, one may actually get a corrupted backup (much worse than a failure).
