I just moved my Hyper-V VMs from 2012R2 to 2019. SnapManager fails to create application-consistent backups. There is a support article that simply says "Install the Host Guardian Service" without any consideration to the additional overhead this causes.
I work in a small shop and the steps needed are onerous. I swear that NetApp backup products across the board have gotten worse, almost to the point of being unusable in the past 10 years.
Can someone tell me if NetApp plans on addressing this shortcoming or are the customers SOL?
