I'm trying to port an old NetApp PowerShell Toolkit script running on an old server that is managing our home directory quota to the current version of the NetApp PowerShell Toolkit (9.14.1.2401) on an up-to-date server. First strange effect: Unless I specify -ZapiCall, the Get-NcQuota and Get-NcQuotaReport are useless for me, as the QuotaTarget fields come up blank. So -ZapiCall it must be, even if that interface is deprecated. Next problem: I have a quota entry, that clearly exists: > Get-NcQuota -Type User -Target AD\ratzka_t -Volume vol_HRZ_H -VserverContext vsrz001 -Qtree "" QuotaType QuotaTarget Volume Qtree DiskLimit FileLimit Vserver --------- ----------- ------ ----- --------- --------- ------- user AD\ratzka_t vol_HRZ_H 36909875 - vsrz001 But trying to remove it gives me a confusing error message: > Remove-NcQuota -Type User -Target AD\ratzka_t -Volume vol_HRZ_H -VserverContext vsrz001 -Qtree "" Remove-NcQuota : Group parameter neither specified nor set At line:1 char:1 + Remove-NcQuota -Type User -Target AD\ratzka_t -Volume vol_HRZ_H -Vser ... + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Remove-NcQuota], ArgumentException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Group is empty,DataONTAP.C.PowerShell.SDK.Cmdlets.Quota.RemoveNcQuota Incidentally, searching for this error message turns up a suggestion to just do REST directly. So is there anybody out there who is successfully using the NcQuota-cmdlets? Kind Regards, Wolfgang Ratzka

Hi Everyone , Recently I tried to implement the FlexClone function through New-NcVolClone ,I executed the same instructions on three different versions of ONTAP. The instructions are as follows: New-NcVolClone -ParentVolume "SC_SQL3_Y" -CloneVolume "SC_SQL3_Y_20240520" -Vserver "svm-iscsi" -ParentSnapshot "Hourly_SQL-146-USERDB_05-08-2024_12.00.01.2713_1" -SpaceReserve "none" The three versions are ONTAP 9.3 P21 / 9.11.1 P11 / 9.14.1 P2. I hope to use the New-NcVolClone command to take a Flexclone specific snapshot and generate a new Thin povisioned volume. So I used the parameter -SpaceReserve "none", but I didn't expect that the result only took effect in ONTAP 9.3. No matter how hard I try, the clones produced by 9.11.1 and 9.14.1 must be thick provisioned volumes, does this seem to be a difference caused by the ONTAP version? Or am I missing something? How do I get newer versions of ONTAP to also create thin provisioned volumes?

Hello *, after upgrading NetApp PSTK to latest version 9.12.1.2302 on our win 2012R2 script host and running some dr scripts i noticed a possible error/bug in "New-NcVol" command. When using the parameter -language PS runs the new new-ncvol command without any errors but no volume will be created. I tried every possible combination but no volume wil be created. When leaving out the parameter volume will be created but we need to have a different language from svm root volume. Can anyone confirm the same problem when using -language? Currently it seems like every version of PSTK has its own big bugs which leaves them nearly unusable.

Hi Team, I am creating a Ansible playbook for NetApp Health check and started with basic. I am able to get volume and svm info for offline volumes and i get output like [vol1, svm1, vol2, svm2, vol3, svm3]. When i am putting this into CSV its going in single row. Need help to be able to split this into multiple rows.

We're migrating our datacenters to Hyper-V/SCVMM from VMware and through this process we started using the SMI-S Provider with SCVMM 2022. I noticed today that all easy to find references to SMI-S Provider are missing from the NetApp Support site... They can still be found through search, but are all marked as "Legacy". Given that SCVMM only supports SAN Arrays through either SMI-S or SMP, what is the plan moving forward for this, given how many orgs are moving away from VMWare and into Hyper-V/Azure Stack HCI as a solution? Presumably the way to go would be SMB shares, but given that the SMI-S provider is still required to be able to add NetApp hosted SMB shares (No WSMAN on NetApp so the "Add File Share" option fails), this leaves me in a bit of a predicament.
