We have a situation that our company only uses Tivoli for monitoring all type of systems. (windows servers, aix servers etc.) I need to know if there is a way to have the filers send the tivoli server SNMP traps. I currently have Operational Mgr sending the traps to the tivoli server. The Tivoli techis overwelmed by the mib files and can not figure it out.

Have you looked at Appliance Watch for Tivoli Enterprise 3.6 or 3.7?

On your NetApp arrays, you can specify the Tivoli server as an SNMP traphost. It will then send all SNMP traps to the Tivoli server.
> snmp traphost xxx.xxx.xxx.xx
You might also look into using the SMI-S interface for NetApp arrays. You can find instructions for obtaining the NetApp SMI-S Agent at the following:
http://www.netapp.com/us/company/leadership/industry-standards/smi-s-agent.html
Data ONTAP Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) Agent is a command-based interface that detects and manages platforms that run Data ONTAP. It uses Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) protocols to manage, monitor, and report about storage elements by type. SMI-S Agent follows schemas standardized by two organizations: Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) and Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA). You can install Data ONTAP SMI-S Agent (SMI-S Agent) on a Windows® or a Linux® host.

Thanks for the input. I just heard that the client also uses IBM Director and IBM Netcool. The help desk use these tools. Is it possible to use them to monitor the filers?

It's possible to monitor the systems using any SNMP tool.
You can grab the NetApp MIB from the Downloads -> Toolchest section of the NOW site.
'The Network Appliance custom MIB contains detailed descriptions of data retrieved from appliances via common SNMP clients. The MIB is formatted such that these clients can read it while querying the server, and display descriptions and data at the same time.'
