Dedicated CIFS Interface

Hello,

I am setting up CIFS on my V3240 running 8.1 7Mode.  Can someone please assist me with setting up a dedicated interface for CIFS.  I have a virtual interface set up on its own VLAN but I am not sure how to direct CIFS traffic through that interface.  I believe it may have something to do with the /etc/hosts file but can't find a good document on this.

Thanks,

Ryan

Ryan,

You can block specific protocols to an interface, allowing only the one you want such as CIFS. Please see this link and look towards the bottom of page 35 and onto 36 for details. https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_get_file/ECMM1277792

See if this answers your question.
