Hi

I'd like to encrypt data on my NetApp storage. I think about solution which give me encrypt data on granular level possibility. It should work for example : like EFS on Windows. Users should encrypt own files and folders . Is it possible with NetApp ?

Hi,

First of all, you can use host-based encryption, e.g. the thing you just mentioned - EFS.

Other than that, assuming we are taking about CIFS shares, not LUNs,  NetApp is partnering with SafeNet which manufacturers IP encryption appliance called StorageSecure (you can find some documents about it on Field Portal if you have access to it)

Radek
